The Placebo Effect
Found this interesting video last week. It’s short, but really interesting.
One thing to keep in mind about the placebo effect, is that focus can be a placebo. Just having greater focus can make you improve mental game issues, like tilt. If you’re focused on tilting less, some of you will tilt less, just because you’re focused on it. The reason I say that’s a placebo, is because you’re not actually correcting the cause of your tilt problem. Sure, focus can help you to learn more about tilt, make you more aware of your pattern of tilt, but it alone can’t fix your tilt problem.
Although many players think that focus is a cure, which is why they go through continual ups & downs in their ability to stay in control of their game and not tilt.
