Last month I introduced the basic concepts behind the adult learning model and how we can use this to understand how the negative thoughts in our unconscious minds can send us on tilt. This month I’m going to outline how mindset coach Jared Tendler helped me crack one of the most fundamental aspects of why people tilt and how we can work to overcome it.

Let’s paint a very common picture in poker. You’re in the middle of a game, things haven’t been going great but then you manage to get all your money in with aces against pocket deuces. Perfect, everything is going well, until …bang , a deuce hits on the river. In the blink of an eye your stranglehold on the hand has gone and you’re out of the tournament. After a torrent of bad beats how many of you have caught yourself thinking some thing along the lines of: “This is s**t, someone is out to get me. They must be.
