Your book talks about the inch work, process model, and also the Adult Learning Model which helped me get a long way from where I was. However, there are also many things one can learn in a given time period. In school we are given many subjects and asked to learn a little about each. The problem is we rarely master one subject until college when you go to get your masters degree.

I'm wondering if you want to master one thing say Cash games or tournaments. Or even say Cash games or tournaments regarding one side of your life and business and social life in another part. Will it be more beneficial to drop the other 3 to you master the one? Or will you have a chance in burning out?

As of right now it seems as I am skipping around and if I want to truly master one art then it will take me a lot longer with scattered focus. However, if that scattered focus minimizes burn out then it could be a good thing?

Having scattered focus away from the time that you're playing poker and working towards mastering something is fine, and as you acknowledge, can help to minimize burnout. The question is whether that scattered focus is affecting the amount of time and the quality of the time that you are focused on poker.

I'm not 100% sure whether you can master cash and tournaments at the same time. I'd talk to some players about this, and see whether you can do both at same time, or whether you need to focus on just one.
